Prayer time 5 November 2025

Five Steps & Golden Key practice (in concentration phase).

Haere mai, welcome. Thank you for joining in praying with others.

Our first words to say:

Psalm 82:6 “I have said, ‘you are gods, children of the Most High, all of you.”

John 1: 12 “But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God.”

Relaxation

Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Invite:

  • Stretch

  • Breathe - first as it is, then deeper

  • We are slowing down

  • We are savouring this moment

Concentration

Scripture: “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:2

Where we align our thoughts with spiritual reality - or truth.

During the day, there will have been many moments where we ruminated on our troubles, problems, dilemmas … and so here, we are going to bring some of those thoughts to mind and then renew our minds using truth principles. It’s a tremendous amount of fun.

So to set our mind on things above is to recognise the divine order of life, and to not struggle and to not even concentrate ‘hard’ - we will just rest once we set our mind on things above.

Scriptures: using God is Light and God is Love as our ‘Golden Key’ to any troubles of the day.

God is Light

“God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5 (NRSV)

God is Love

“God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.” 1 John 4:16 (NRSV)

So let’s just start and the practice will unfold.

Scenarios:

  • A problem or a burden - see that situation and now we pray…

  • A person or persons with whom there is a bit of upset…

  • Mentally open up your finances - your bank accounts, some bills, the mortgage and the rent…

  • Let’s get really clear from our own body … so do a scan, where is there tension, what do you associate that feeling with? Now that thought, we bring to prayer. And we deny and then affirm as below.

Denial:

I deny this situation as lasting or permanent. This situation does not dismay me.

Affirm:

I give thanks God’s love is in this situation, going before me and removing all negation and all error from my path. In this situation there is God’s love. There is no love, but God’s love. Every aspect of this situation is now brought into perfect and harmonious alignment with the love of God. The perfect love of God is guiding me in this situation.

And God is light. There is no light but God’s light. Every aspect of my mind, my body and my affairs is now brought into perfect and harmonious alignment with the perfect light of God. The light of God is guiding me now.

Meditation

Scripture: The kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21

So here, we turn away from form the outer circumstances, and we allow a quiet turning within to that which already is - that the Kingdom of God is within you. So without effort and without struggle, we will hold silence for two minutes - with no words to say, no thoughts to correct, just the understanding that in the silence and in the stillness, God is. I’ll stop talking now and give you a couple of minutes of quiet.

Realisation

Scripture: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians. 2:5

Affirm together - The Christ Mind is my mind now.

I invite you to repeat any or all of the following statements that link to the Scriptures we’ve read together and that may have touched a deeper, knowing, part of you.

I am divinely guided by the Love of God.

I am surrounded by the Light of God.

I am constantly radiating God’s light in all my activities and affairs.

I am the ever renewing, ever unfolding expression of God’s light and God’s love.

Every aspect of my mind, my body and my affairs is perfectly aligned with the Light and Love of God.

Appreciation

Scripture: “In everything give thanks.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I give thanks for the realisation of Truth this evening. I give thanks that this day is a good day. I bless and appreciate all the people and circumstances that are my experience of life today.

I give thanks, that every thought, word, attitude and action that is inspired from this time in prayer is flooded with the love of God. I give thanks that this is a good life. A life of ease. A life of grace.

I give thanks, that where there is deep work for me to do, I know the light of God goes before me, making all things work together for good.

As I lay down to peaceful sleep tonight, I give thanks for this wonderful, blessed day.

And so it is, tehei mauri ora, and we will finish our time now with a recitation of the Lord’s prayer followed by the ringing of our prayer bell, and our session will conclude.

Our Father in Heaven,

Hallowed by your name.

Your Kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth, as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever, amen.

Ringing of the prayer bell. And our hearts bow, goodnight.
