Dear Unity friends,
Please see below a copy of an email from Lois Cheatham, Program Manager, for International Outreach, Unity Village, regarding World Day of Prayer.
“Hello!
World Day of Prayer is my favorite time of the year at Unity Village. Traditionally, activities would begin on Wednesday evening with an opening service followed by a candlelight walk to the SU Chapel where the prayer vigil will be maintained. The following day would be filled with services, classes, and much celebration as we join together as one world in prayer. I often envision a blanket of prayer sweeping over the globe as New Zealand would begin holding the high watch at the start of the day. As morning would dawn across the globe, others would join in and the blanket of prayer would sweep over our world. There is great comfort knowing someone is always in prayer.
This year is a bit different as World Day of Prayer will be an online event. We are excited about this opportunity because it means those unable to come to the Village will be able to join us in holding this sacred sparce. Events will still begin on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM (Central Standard Time) and resume Thursday morning at 8:00 AM (Central Standard Time). You may view a complete schedule at: https://www.unity.org/wdop. We would love for you to join us for any portion of the events – or all of them – as your schedule permits.
Have you had a chance to go online and light a virtual candle to represent your light shining in prayer? If not, you may do so at: https://www.unity.org/wdop/candle. I would love to see all countries where we have affiliates represented. And please feel free to share this link with your friends and those you serve. Let’s light up the world with our prayer energy!
You may submit a prayer request online or send them to me and I’ll see they are placed in the prayer vigil. As always, it is our honor to pray with you.
In closing, I would like to say thank you for being the light you are to those you serve and to me personally. You make our world a better placed. Thank you for being awesome, incredible, wonderful you!
Much love,
Lois”
