I wish to express my deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the Unity Board and members, friends in Unity around NZ and Australia and further a field who have sent flowers, cards and emails of prayer support to me and my family in the recent loss of our loved one.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 ~ “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Over the past six months I have experienced a greater depth and understanding of the words ,“In everything give thanks.” The practice of consciously choosing to give thanks in all circumstances always provides me with a gift of comfort and healing and deepens my awareness of the value and joy of life in the Now. Having an attitude of gratitude in the midst of all situations is like a prayer of faith. It is to have faith in the unseen presence of God as a constant help in every need.
Charles Fillmore says “Thanksgiving will keep the heart fresh; for true thanksgiving may be likened to rain falling upon ready soil refreshing it and increasing its productiveness.”
Giving thanks daily helps us to process the outer situation under grace and to heal in harmony within divine law. A thankful mind and heart allows us to honour our feelings while opening our minds and hearts to the comfort and wisdom of divine love. Gratitude to God always lifts us to a higher awareness and a deep inner knowing that we are never alone. It is a gift in the now assuring us that- God’s love and light is with us at all times.
“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice” ~Meister Eckhart
As we approach the Christmas season, let us choose to take a moment in time to pray in gratitude for the gift of life; to give thanks in the now for the many opportunities we all have daily to grow spiritually into a greater understanding of our Christ nature. The celebration of the birth of Christ is to remind us that it is our divine purpose to give and receive love, and to cherish each day as a God given gift, for it truly is. I extend to you all the blessings of a joy filled Advent season, a love and peace filled Christmas, and a wondrously blessed 2014. In the love of Christ to all,
In faith and gratitude,
Rhonda
